A search of “VoIP Broadband Phone Service” returns over 1.5 million results! With all of these VoIP service providers out there jumping on the broadband technology bandwagon, how are you expected to find your way through all of this to choose the service that’s right for you? Many will try to lure you in with special offers and freebies, but what it all boils down to is that you’re going to save money no matter who you go with by switching your current phone service(s) over to VoIP.
Though basically still in its infancy, the cream of the major VoIP service providers has already begun to rise to the top, numbering maybe only a dozen or so. Some you may have already heard of as they are the ones that have already been around for a while, but there are others not so well known that I think you should be aware of, too. Now for most it’s just not feasibly possible to be able to sign up for multiple accounts to try them out before committing to just one, but some VoIP service providers allow you to “try before you buy” and if you want to cancel say, after 30 days or so, you’re not stuck with one you’re unhappy with and you can continue to keep your current service(s) before making the switch altogether.
What follows is several of the most popular VoIP service providers (in no particular order) that are known for not just the usual factors such as rates and features, but also quality, convenience and compatibility, as well. These are by no means the limit to your options, but it’s a good place to start and will hopefully keep you from information overload. I may find myself adding to or removing from this list as the need arises, especially as more people find themselves signing up for VoIP and their experiences are made more readily available. As with anything, just be sure to take the time to thoroughly understand what you’re getting and don’t be afraid to ask questions. I think you’ll be happy with the results.
